inseroTech launches new micro-leaf grow box at HortiFair 2009
inseroTech Ltd located in Deal, Kent, UK has launched its new grow box at HortiFair 2009. The inseroTech grow box is designed for use in the growing of micro-leaf salads such as garden cress or pea shoots. The grow box is designed with product safety and the environment in the fore front – the growing medium for the new box is inseroTech’s unique hydroponic matting “inseroMat”, a food safe and sterile growth substrate prepared from 100% FSC certified wood raw materials. inseroMat is 100% compostable and offers a “cradle to cradle” alternative to growth substrates like peat, mineral wool, or perlite.
inseroTech’s grow box is made of solid board and is easy to use – simply open, sow and grow! This new and innovative water resistant box is the result of an excellent collaboration between inseroTech and the Dutch solid board packaging company SolidPack located in Loenen, The Netherlands.
The inseroTech grow box is prepared from recycled paper. The grow box has the following features:
- fits well on standard pallets
- easily opened by the end-user (for example caterers and food processors) for easy access to the micro-leaf product
- the grow box can be disposed of in the waste paper stream for recycling
- the matting and remaining vegetation can be disposed of in the green waste stream for composting
