Hydroponic Production of Micro Salads on InseroMat
350 g/ sqm base weight InseroMat is currently being used by Micro Salads Ltd in Kent to produce commercial crops of:
- Red and Green Basil,
- Coriander,
- Wild and Salad Roquette,
- Water Cress and
- Pea Shoots.
These crops are sold to a principal UK retailer, a sandwich manufacturer and prepared salad manufacturer.
InseroMat was chosen by Micro Salads Ltd as a growing media because:
- It is Uniform and its Origin is traceable …from an FSC Accredited Source
- It is Free of microbial contamination
- It is produced from an Environmentally sustainable resource
- When harvest is complete the matting can either be shredded and compacted to make into fuel logs or the matting and crop residue can be fed directly to animals such as pigs.
